These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of digital platforms, applications, systems, and communication services operated by Iqra University (“Iqra University”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), including services that use the Admissions Portal, WhatsApp Business Platform / WhatsApp Business APIs.
By accessing, using, or interacting with our services (including messaging us via WhatsApp or other messaging apps), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the services.
- Purpose of the Services
Iqra University provides digital communication and information services to support:
- Prospective students and applicants
- Enrolled students
- Faculty and staff
- Alumni and other stakeholders
These services are intended to facilitate official university communications, academic administration, admissions support, notifications, and service-related updates.
- Eligibility and Authorised Use
You may use our services if:
- You are at least 18 years of age, or have appropriate parental/guardian consent where required
- You are communicating with the University for legitimate academic, administrative, or institutional purposes
- You provide accurate and lawful information when interacting with our systems
You agree not to misuse the services or use them for unlawful, misleading, or unauthorized purposes.
- WhatsApp-Based Communications
3.1 Use of WhatsApp Business APIs
Iqra University uses WhatsApp through the WhatsApp Business Platform / WhatsApp Business APIs strictly in compliance with:
- Meta Platform Policies
- WhatsApp Business Messaging Policies
WhatsApp communications may include:
- Responses to user-initiated messages
- Admissions and application updates
- Academic notifications, schedules, and reminders
- Event-related and service-related announcements
3.2 Consent and Opt-Out
By initiating communication with the University via WhatsApp, submitting your contact details, or opting in through University forms or systems, you consent to receive WhatsApp messages related to University services.
You may opt out at any time by:
- Replying with an opt-out request (e.g., “STOP”) where applicable, or
- Contacting the University through official channels
We do not send unsolicited promotional or marketing messages.
- Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to:
- Use the services to send spam, bulk, or automated messages
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or impersonate others
- Share false, misleading, or defamatory content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or data
- Use the services in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
- Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, text, software, and materials provided through University platforms are the intellectual property of Iqra University or its licensors, unless otherwise stated.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify such content without prior written permission, except for personal and lawful use.
- Data Protection and Privacy
Use of our services is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data.
By using the services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
- Third-Party Platforms and Services
Our services may rely on or integrate with third-party platforms, including Meta and WhatsApp. Iqra University is not responsible for service interruptions, changes, or policies of third-party platforms.
Your use of WhatsApp is also governed by WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policies.
- Service Availability and Modifications
We strive to maintain reliable services, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Iqra University may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the services at any time for operational, security, or legal reasons.
- Disclaimer of Warranties
The services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Iqra University disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
- Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Iqra University shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or related to the use of the services.
- Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Iqra University, its officers, employees, and affiliates from claims arising from your misuse of the services or violation of these Terms.
- Compliance with Laws and Platform Policies
Users agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and platform policies when using the services.
Iqra University operates its WhatsApp-based services in accordance with Meta and WhatsApp policies and will not use platform data for prohibited purposes, including targeted advertising or data resale.
- Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the services if we reasonably believe that a user has violated these Terms, applicable laws, or platform policies.
- Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts in Pakistan.
- Changes to These Terms
Iqra University may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on our official website with a revised effective date.
